About Ladytron

• Ladytron is an electronic-pop band with shoegazing and dreampop elements.

• They formed in 1999 in Liverpool, England. The band consists of Helen Marnie (lead vocalist, keyboardist), Mira Aroyo (vocalist, keyboardist), Daniel Hunt (keyboardist, guitarist), and Reuben Wu (keyboardist).

•They have five studio albums and six EPs. Their five studio albums are 604, Light & Magic, Witching Hour, Velocifero, and Gravity the Seducer. Their EPs are The Harmonium Sessions, Miss Black And Her Friends, Extended Play, Ace of Hz, Commodore Rock, and Mu-Tron EP.

• Helen Marnie, who also goes by her last name, released the solo album "Crystal World" in June 11, 2013.

• Ladytron have been considered "electroclash" by a bunch of lazy journalists, but refuse this tag extensively.

• They consider their definitive album Witching Hour.

• Reuben Wu created a song called "Mechanoids" for a commercial about freight logistics. The commercial is called:
Over 2 Million Containers, 2,000 Routes - GE

• Ladytron have been deemed the best of "electronic pop music" by Roxy Music member Brian Eno.

• Ladytron are usually pretty secretive in their song lyrics, but many of them are inspired by concrete things. Ladytron's song "Deep Blue," for example, is about the computer chess-program Deep Blue created by IBM that defeated chess champion Garry Kasparov in 1997.

• Ladytron albums can be grouped into pares: (to the core) electronic-pop records 604 and Light & Magic, electronic-pop-glam-rock Witching Hour and Velocifero, and textural albums Gravity the Seducer and Marnie's Crystal World.

• Although Ladytron have played several synthesizers, the synthesizer that appears on every album and live show is a Korg MS-20.

• Ladytron have produced some songs for the Sims 3 soundtrack: "Rockfalls & Estuaries", "She Stepped Out of the Car" and "Young Etruscians". Also, for The Sims 3: Supernatural pack, they produced a new song called "Tesla."

• Some of those songs produced for the Sims' soundtracks are sung in Simlish (language of the Sims).  An example is "Rockfalls & Estuaries."

• Bands that are similar to Ladytron include Freezepop, Marsheaux, Client, Goldfrapp, Miss Kittin, Ladyhawke, Cut Copy, The Human League, and Crystal Castles.

About Website Owner

• Samantha (owner of this website) finds herself intrigued by Ladytron's futuristic sound.

• Her favorite Ladytron album is "Light & Magic," but she loves all of their albums approximately the same.

• She discovered Ladytron on Myspace several years ago (in 2008) and became a die-hard fan around the time of their release "Gravity The Seducer" in 2011.

• Her favorite Ladytron song is "Deep Blue." In fact, she considers it her all-time favorite song.

• Samantha feels like Helen Marnie's and Mira Aroyo's voices go well together.

• Unfortunately, Samantha has never been to a Ladytron concert, but would like to go to one.

• Samantha is a major fan of the electronic music genre in general.
